NEW YORK FASHION WEEK FALL 2011: Staple Neutrals with a SPLASH of Bright Colors!

I know what your thinking! - We're barely through these brisk wintery days. Our minds are no where near wrapped around our spring wardrobe and yet it's already the time of year where world's best designers reveals what they think we should be wearing for fall? Well, you got that right! To all the fashion enthusiasts who questions "What are The COLORS for Autumn?" Read up! Know which colors to rock. Pantone  has released its Fashion Colors for Fall 2011. 

Earthy, cool autumnal shades of warm toasty browns, pale olive and greyish lavender flooded the runways while there were bright hues of teal, bamboo yellow, blush pink and dark purple. It's a fabulous and not entirely a typical Fall/Winter palette, which is what we'll need to make things a little more lively for everyone this fall!


Famous designers such as Michael Kors, Dennis Basso and BCBG have recently revealed their wear for Fall/Winter 2011. Michael Kors showed the epitome of American class and elegance. While Basso and BCBG exhibited class and sophistication - all using  black, grey and different shades of nude tones.

Inspired by the Manhattan skyline, Elene Cassis kept her black-and-white asymmetric block signature pieces followed by grey, wine, nutmeg tones that she later incorporated into her line.

Herve Leger's Bohemian inspired fantasy and G-Star's groovy disco decade collection revealed shades of olive, bamboo rust.

Where as Rebecca Taylor brought femininity to the stage using flowy chiffon  fabrics and floral details. Ms. Taylor always uses the most unique colors. This year she threw in deep teal, magenta, icy pearl grey, and dusty lavenders. Her style has a sublime vintage vibe to it. Almost feels like a dreamy day  relaxing under La Tour Eiffel.

LAMB by Gwen Stefani, TIBI and Betsey Johnson bumped their patterns and tones to pretty much every color on the palette.

The glitz and glam was topped off by Farah Angsana's show-stopping gowns. She played around with her hues using; silver, gold, grey, purple, gingerbread spice tones. Each of his red carpet looks was covered in some type of embellishment -- sequins, beading, embroidery or fur.
